Vectorworks Dimensions - 254 In this movie I am going to look at simple dimensioning. Using dimensions correctly is fundamental if you want to use Vectorworks effectively. I believe it is really important to practice the basics. It is surprising how often you lose your skill if you don't practice the basics. I looked at dimensioning recently in a webinar and the users were surprised at how many options there are with dimensioning. I am not going to cover all of the options in this movie, but I will cover some of the basics of dimensioning and some of the most important parts. Creating Section Drawings

 Sections in Vectorworks can be used to show the construction of the project. Sections can be live, meaning that they update easily when you change the model. For example, if you are designing a house, as you make changes to the plan, the sections will update when you click on the Update button. 

To create the section, you need the model of the project.

Roof Framing Plan

This is the fifth in the series of creating drawings, the Roof Framing Plan. For this drawing, you need to have the objects on the correct classes and layers. In this movie, there are several objects that are on the incorrect classes and need to be corrected.

In this movie, I show you how to draw a quick building using Vectorworks walls, slab, foundations, roof, and roof framing. The techniques I use on this simple building can easily be used on a more complex building.
